چکیده
Stricter energy efficiency requirements of buildings have raised concerns about their effects on indoor air quality (IAQ). We studied measured and perceived IAQ in three low-energy wooden test using ventilation levels (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 (dm3/s)/m2). measurements included VOC (volatile organic compounds) sampling continuous several indicators. Perceived (PAQ) was investigated with a sensory panel untrained volunteers. The results show that the TVOC (Total VOC) concentrations were relatively low two already at beginning study (100–141 µg/m3), decreased all when increased from lowest level. third building made pinewood timber showed higher (340–857 especially for terpene compounds are generally present emissions. In PAQ assessment, percentage people dissatisfied (PD) buildings. However, highest ventilation, had second-lowest PD despite levels. findings this can be utilized interpreting design material selection

Indoor Air Quality of Office Buildings in the Helsinki Area
Indoor air quality (IAQ) was investigated in 19 open-plan offices and 30 office rooms in order to compare the differences in these two different types of office environments. No moisture or mold problems had been reported from the present buildings, but the employees had complained about the IAQ. The results revealed only slight differences in the IAQ of the two different types of office enviro...

متن کاملA Dual Airflow Window for Indoor Air Quality Improvement and Energy Conservation in Buildings
This paper proposes a novel dual airflow window for use in residential buildings that tempers outdoor air with exhausted indoor air. The energy needed to condition outdoor air is reduced because of the counterflow heat exchange between the two flow streams. Experimentally validated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations have been used to optimize the window design and to estimate the be...
متن کاملHumidification and perceived indoor air quality in the office environment.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of humidification on the odour, acceptability, and stuffiness of indoor air. METHODS In a six period cross over trial at the Pasila Office Center, Helsinki, the air of two wings of the building in turn were ventilated with air of 30%-40% humidity. A third wing served as a non-humidified control area. The quality of indoor air was assessed weekly by a panel con...

Background and purpose: Elevated CO2 rate in a building affect the health of occupant. This document presents results of an experimental analysis conducted in 50 offices located in 12 buildings with different layer in Cameroon (Yaounde). This study took place in 2012, during the dry and the rainy seasons. The main goal is to show the influence of the building structure, the ventilation and the ...
